GPS-based Soil Sampling Service Offers Savings through Accuracy and Efficiency
17 August 2010
Shorts Agricultural offers a comprehensive GPS-based soil sampling service, either for stand-alone pH or as part of a complete package with phosphate, potash and magnesium.
Shorts Agricultural offers a money-efficient GPS-based soil sampling service to ensure effective fertilisation.
GPS-based sampling offers customers the opportunity to save money on input costs and optimise yields by only applying nutrients where they are required in the field, or by directing additional nutrients at areas with low soil indices.
With GPS-based sampling, variation in soil indices can accurately be identified and customers can then be confident that they are applying the correct amount of lime, or other fertilisers, only where the fields requires it and at the most appropriate rate.
Customers using GPS-based sampling will receive a set of colour maps clearly detailing the variation in soil pH across the field. Application maps also show the rates of lime that will be applied.
Shorts Agricultural have two spreaders equipped with GPS equipment which can be used for both lime and fertiliser spreading and are therefore able to provide a complete GPS-based sampling and spreading service.
For customers keen to stick to traditional methods, we also offer standard soil sampling for pH and other plant nutrients.
